Lakewood High School (Colorado)
Lakewood High School is a public secondary school located in Lakewood, Colorado, United States and is part of Jefferson County Public Schools. Lakewood was ranked as the 111th best school in the nation by Newsweek〔(The 1,200 Top U.S. Schools - Newsweek America's Best High Schools - MSNBC.com )〕 in 2006 and more recently as the 108th best school in 2008.
==History==
Lakewood High School was established in 1928 and moved in 1958.
As a result of a bond issue on the 2004 ballot, Lakewood has received over $35 million USD to construct a new school building. Construction began in January 2006, and continued until the summer of 2007. The new building had its official opening over the summer of 2007, with students sometimes assisting teachers' move into the new building post term-end. The new building was open for use by the student body and faculty starting at the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year.
